Social Media Addiction

A meal, food you can finish eating in 10 - 20 minutes, but instead you spend over an hour sitting there eating because you are holding your phone, scrolling through social media while eating.

Take something as simple as URINATING (squat and get up), instead of spending 5 minutes in the restroom, you end up wasting over 30 minutes squatting because you are scrolling through your social media feeds.

A task you could complete in an hour takes you 3 - 4 hours, all because you are distracted, scrolling through social media feeds.

When you wake up from sleep, you can’t just get out of bed. You waste 30 minutes, an hour or even 2 hours, all because of your phone.

After prayers at the mosque, instead of starting your dhikr, you pick up your phone to open WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok… as if something important is happening that you can’t afford to miss, imposing a fear of missing out (FOMO) on yourself.

And then you complain that time is running fast and you don’t know where your time goes. Don’t you? Yet, there is no benefit, no money, no value that comes from scrolling on social media pages except wasting your time.

You have willingly allowed yourself to fall into the trap of laziness and procrastination, to the point that social media addiction has taken hold of you without you realizing it.
